About Doors Open Day: ERC Training Centre
East Renfrewshire Council Training Centre (previously known as the Waste Recycling Technology Centre) will be opening the doors of its Eco Classroom which utilises sustainable building materials and technologies.
The Training Centre has also used the park's walled garden and potting shed buildings for over eight years as a classroom, office, canteen and tool store for many employability clients and vocational learners. There is also a 30m x 10m greenhouse, which was purchased second hand, where East Renfrewshire Council's hanging basket plants are grown and planted. The greenhouse is used for training and educational activities throughout the year.
The Dams to Darnley Country Park Countryside Rangers will be in attendance to lead sustainability activities for our younger visitors. The Rangers will also be able to provide information about the country park, its wildlife and activities that go on there. They will also be able to answer any of your wildlife queries.
