This month’s meeting is very different with three workshops and three “home-grown” presenters.
Adrian Egglestone will be discussing soil acidity – what is the relevance, how to measure your soil’s acidity and how to adjust to suit the plants you want to grow.
Mary Fyffe will be looking at hand gardening tools – the designs to consider for easier use and how to keep them in best working order.
Peter Watson will be showing how to choose tulip bulbs, pot them up and grow them on to have that prize-winning display at our Spring Flower Show in March.
As an autumn celebration, the Society holds an annual competition for the best harvest display. All you have to do is to prepare a (small) decorated basket filled with vegetables and/or fruit that you have grown and/or preserves (jam/chutneys) that you have made. Free to enter, the winner will be judged by all the members present.
The meeting is open to all.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Mearns Horticultural Society October Meeting and Autumn Harvest Show are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
