Held at Rouken Glen Country Park Glasgow...Everyone welcome to come join in with the DOC for their Public Festival in the Wheel of the Seasons, bringing Druidry to the Public of the Festival of Samhuinn.
Meeting around 12 at the 13 Maidens Tree Circle up by the Waterfall if weather permitting. Beginning at 1pm. And if the weather permitting… maybe wear warm clothes.
But come earlier to help set up and meet old and new friends and some chat. Drumming in the Ancestors at 12 followed by the Ceremony at 1pm.
Today the Spirits of our families and Ancestors, who had gone before us, stand with us and we greet them with joy and love, and we send our blessings and thoughts as we share our food and drink and light the way for them through the Gateway of Time of no Time to be with us today.
For thousands of years our Ancestors celebrated and remembered their own, as we do today in our Rite of Samhuinn, and which through our children, will be carried on for many years to come.
It is also a time for ourselves, in these coming Winter months, to incubate in our unconscious the seeds of the future, of new ideas. Not to fear the dark, but to take this opportunity to rest and recharge our own inner energy.
This is a time of renewal and change and we honour and respect the death of the old, as we know this will give us a chance to be ready for the rebirth of our thoughts and dreams in the Spring and the new directions and journeys in our lives yet to come.
Today as we celebrate our Festival of Samhuinn it is a time to look forward, as a Year is finished, a Year begins.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Druids of Caledon: Public Festival of Samhuinn are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
