Kind hearted Neilston Lesiure Centre staff are going to great lengths to get behind a national swimathon to raise cash for Marie Curie Cancer.
Kind hearted Neilston Lesiure Centre staff are going to great lengths to get behind a national swimathon to raise cash for Marie Curie Cancer in the Big Splash Mile as part of Sport Relief 2012 and they want you to join in!
The charity swim will run over the weekend of Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 April with two sessions available for swimmers to attend, from 3.30pm till 5.00pm on Saturday and 8.30am till 12.00pm on Sunday.
East Renfrewshire Councils swimming development team are encouraging everyone to get in early and leave yourself plenty of time to swim your mile!
Swimming Coordinator Karen Baxter explains; "You can register on the Swimathon website www.swimathon.org or if you want find out other ways that you can help this great cause contact our local girl Gemma Brown on 0141 577 4833.
"There will be a photographer to capture you being presented your medal achievement and certificate and we can promise that mega feel good factor for making a contribution to a great charity!"
Now in its 25th Anniversary, Swimathon has joined forces with British Swimming and the BBC’s Big Splash, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Sport Relief, to promote what is hoped will be the biggest Swimathon Weekend ever with the Big Splash Mile.
