The fun event took participants on a stroll through the park where they took part in a Commonwealth quiz as they sauntered.
The afternoon was just one of the ways locals are being supported to take up walking in East Renfrewshire.
Councillor Alan Lafferty, convener for social work and health said: “Walking is simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier. It's ideal for people of all ages and fitness levels who want to be more active. If you would like to get involved and join a local walking group please get in touch with Sine.”
Councillor Vincent Waters, convener for environment said: “Councillor Vincent Waters, convener for environment said: “It’s great to see more people out and enjoying one of the best resources on our doorstep - Rouken Glen Park. There are walking groups which meet regularly in and around the park. I’d urge anyone who wants to get outdoors more often, be social and improve their health to join a group and discover the benefits of walking.”
The event was organised by East Renfrewshire CHCP’s health improvement team and the parks team, and is supported by Paths for All and NHSGGC.
