The American science-fiction comedy is being brought back by the south side theatre venue as part of its 45th anniversary and Year of Young People 2018 celebrations.
The film stars Michael J. Fox as 17-year-old high school student Marty McFly, who is accidentally sent thirty years into the past in a time-travelling DeLorean invented by close friend and scientist Doc Brown.
Originally released in 1985, the film took is said to have made over $381 million worldwide.
Anthony McReavy from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure, said: “There is no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than with a classic film.
“Generations of film-goers have enjoyed Back to the Future but many people may have only seen this film on the small screen – either on DVD or video. We wanted to give them and young people now the chance to come together and see this must-see film on the big screen.”
Time travel fans can also catch The Time Machine play at the theatre, brought by Dyad Productions, on Sunday 29 April, which explores what will happen if civilisation falls and can we change the future…or has the end already begun?
