About Introduction to Japanese: Online Lessons

Looking for a distraction during lockdown? This course is a special offer with a flat rate of £10 per hour - even for one-to-one tutoring!

This course is for anyone interested in learning Japanese, whether as a hobby, to try something new or to prepare for a future trip to Japan, and covers:

★ How Japanese writing systems work
★ Basic greetings and self introductions
★ How to ask questions
★ How to describe your daily routine
★ How to ask for and give directions
★ How to order food and drink
★ Study techniques for learning Japanese

How Does it Work?

- Pick and choose sessions for just £10 each
- Book all 5 for 10% off
- Group lessons will be capped at 3 students per group
- Where possible, lessons will be carried out in groups. If not possible, one-to-one lessons will go ahead at the same price.

If you and your friends or family would like to learn together, group sessions are capped at £30 per hour even with more than 3 people - potentially saving you a lot of money per head!

Sessions Available (1hr each)

① Welcome to Japanese!

A whistle-stop overview of the Japanese language and writing system followed by activities including learning to write your name and practising basic greetings.

② Self-Introductions

Learn to introduce yourself and ask about others. In this class we will cover numbers 1-100, how to say your age and how to form questions.

③ Daily Routine

Learn to describe what a typical day or week looks like for you. In this lesson we will cover basic verb structure, days of the week and describing time of day.

④ Survival Japanese: Directions

Learn to ask and give directions to various places you are likely to encounter in Japan. As well as this, we will learn some more basic survival phrases to help you on your way through the streets of Tokyo and beyond.

⑤ Survival Japanese: Food

This lesson covers how to order food and drinks, but also looks at Japan's famously rich food culture and the language that goes with it. Learn to describe food and how to use phrases for eating out or enjoying a meal at someone's home.
