Calderglen Country Park attractions include a Children's Zoo, Tropical Glasshouse, Ornamental Gardens, Nature Trails and Walks, Courtyard Cafe, Toddlers' Play Area, Adventure Play Area and a 18 hole golf course.

The park extends along a scenic wooded glen forged out by the Rotten Calder River, a tributary of the River Clyde. The Glen extends over 5km and has many attractive waterfalls and important geological features.

Calderglen offers a fun packed, diverse programme of events and activities throughout the year. Why not come along and discover Calderglen's events including:

Calderglen Children's Zoo
Calderglen children's zoo opened in 1982 and is home to over 50 different species, some of which are critically endangered. Being about an acre in size, the zoo specialises in small creatures and amongst the ornamental gardens and Conservatory you'll discover meerkats, families of monkeys, noisy Kookaburras, cheeky Ring-tailed Coati, and Burrowing Owls. Come and meet the smallest tortoise and the rarest bird and find out how Calderglen is helping to conserve these endangered animals and about our work with the British and Irish Associations of Zoos and Aquaria (BIAZA).

Look out for our notice board for details of afternoon feeding times when you have the chance to talk to the keepers about some of the animals.

Calderglen Conservatory and Gift Shop
The conservatory: The conservatory is home to our tropical plant collection with plants and animals from all around the world. The plants are divided into the continents: South America, Africa, Australasia and Asia. There is also a large cactus collection along with a banana grove and interactive rainforest tree. Both our Animal Keepers and Horticultural staff run various events and activates throughout the year from the conservatory and it is the gate way to the ornamental gardens and zoo.

Gift shop: Situated in the Conservatory, It is the first port of call for visitors to gain entry to the zoo and gardens and get information about the park. The gift shop is packed with a wide range of souvenirs, preserves, confectionery as well as pocket money gifts for children.

Disabled access
Disabled parking and toilet facilities are available within the park and are signposted on the information boards throughout the park.

Additional information
Calderglen is also home to Torrance House 18 hole Golf course and Club house, East Kilbride Sports Club and K Park Training Academy.
