We are looking for people to help us save lives in Newton Mearns and surrounding areas. Not through promotion of healthy eating or losing weight, but by attending 999 emergency calls as a Community First Responder in conjunction with the Scottish Ambulance Service. This is a rare opportunity to work with the emergency services and offer help and support to people when they most need it - in life threatening situations.
Initial training will last one weekend (Saturday & Sunday), 8 hours each day. This will educate in Basic Life Support, Incident Management, Basic First Aid and use of Defibrillation Equipment. After successful completion, CFR's are assigned an experienced Buddy who will be on shift with them for a minimum period of 4 weeks. The CFR then has the option to respond 'single crewed' or to continue responding as a pair.
When We Need You
