Walks are from 30 minutes up to an hour.

Mondays

Giffnock Jaunt (Dementia Friendly Walk)
From 10am at Lidl, Fenwick Road, Giffnock.
Two walks are offered; A beginners walk for people recovering from illness or falls. Walk is at a slow pace up to 30 minutes. Second walk is for people more confident and wish to walk a little further for 40 minutes.

First Steps Newton Mearns (Macmillan Cancer Friendly Walk)
From 10am at the corner of Broomburn Medical Centre, 257 Mearns Road.
Two walks are offered: A low level walk for people looking to start some form of gentle exercise for 30 minutes and a longer walk with a little bit more of a challenge for those who feel able up to 50 minutes.

Strength & Balance Exercises and a walk
From 10.30am at Neilston Development Trust, The Bank, Main Street, Neilston.
The group start with volunteer led Strength and Balance exercises and then go out for a walk, which lasts up to 40 minutes.

Tuesdays

First Steps Eastwood (MacMillan Cancer Friendly Walk)
From 9.30am, Eastwood Park Theatre Café, Rouken Glen Road, Giffnock.
For people looking to start walking as a form of exercise or to meet new friends. The walk takes up to 40 minutes.

First Steps Barrhead
From 9.45am, Barrhead Foundry, Main Street, Barrhead.
For walkers wanting a longer walk at a moderate pace up to an hour.

St Johns Strollers (Dementia and MacMillan Cancer Friendly Walk)
From 10am, St Johns Church Tea Room, Aurs Road, Barrhead.
This walk is a stroll through Cowan Park up to 40 minutes. People looking for a slow paced walk or a beginner to joining a walk are welcome.

Stepping Out in Barrhead
From 10am, the ARC, Aurs Drive, Barrhead.
A moderate walk for people looking to take part in gentle exercise, meet new people and enjoy the outdoors.

Wednesdays

Neilston Pacemakers
From 10am, Neilston Development Trust, The Bank, Main Street, Neilston.
Offering a longer walk at a moderate pace throughout the Countryside up to 1 hour. Some of the routes will include walking on paths which might have a slight incline.

Health Walk Newton Mearns
From 10am, Newton Mearns Baptist Church, Greenfarm Road, Newton Mearns.
A gentle stroll for people new to walking and looking for some exercise and to meet new friends. The walk is 30-40 minutes.

Rouken Glen Walkers
From 10.30am, Pro-Soccer, Rouken Glen Park.
A walk up to an hour that will explore pathways within and surrounding the glen. Some of the routes will include climbing steps as well as walking on paths which might have a slight incline. Registration is within Pro-Soccer, Rouken Glen Park by 10.30am. (Pro Soccer is adjacent to the Garden Centre)

Stroll in Rouken Glen
From 10.30am, Pro-Soccer, Rouken Glen Park.
A peaceful walk along pathways within Rouken Glen Park. The walk will lead up to the pond within the Park. For beginners or people recovering from an injury or illness. The walk will take an hour. (Pro Soccer is adjacent to the Garden Centre)

Fridays

First Steps Barrhead
From 1pm, Barrhead Foundry, Main Street, Barrhead.
A low level walk within pathways around the Barrhead area up to 30 minutes.


All walks led by qualified volunteer walk leaders supported by East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
