In the beginning it was an exclusive club, formed by a group of wealthy businessmen from the city of Glasgow. As the surrounding countryside disappeared to new housing developments, more and more local folk wanted to join the club. Gradually it became less exclusive and attracted a more representative cross section of the population.

Today, it still flourishes as a "members" only club serving the angling community in and around the picturesque village of Eaglesham. We now have well over 100 members most of whom live locally.

The club manages approximately five miles of the White Cart Water upriver from the weir at Waterfoot. We also have fishing rights for the Earn Water, a tributary of the White Cart that enters the main river at Waterfoot and the Polnoon water that meets the Cart below Mains Farm south of Eaglesham. Since July 2009 the club has the fishing rights for the Pilmuir reservoir which is a great step forward for the club.

Leases
Leases are held with all the riparian landowners to ensure that members have free and unrestricted access to the rivers. In addition, the club lease the salmon rights from the Crown Estates for all its waters in order to protect the clubs fishing rights in the unlikely event that salmon make it past the Busby falls.

Membership
Membership of the club is split into three categories - Adult, Senior Citizen and Junior. Concessionary rates are available to senior citizen and junior members. Day permits are not available as the club is members only, however, each member is allowed up to three visitors per season provided the visitor is accompanied by the member.
