Douglas Yates, East Renfrewshire convener for social work and health is calling for parents to invest in their children's health, and encourage their youngsters to take 60 minutes of physical activity a day.
His plea backs 'Take Life On', the Scottish Government's drive to improve the nation's health by being active for an hour each day. Just 60 minutes of activity a day will help to improve concentration at school, prevent heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer in later life.
