East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure unveils brand new gym equipment
Fitness members are benefitting from brand new gym equipment at two local fitness centres.

East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure has upgraded equipment at Barrhead Foundry and Eastwood Park Leisure gyms, featuring brand-new Technogym cardio and fixed-strength equipment across both sites, to support customers on their fitness journey.
The new equipment includes brand-new Stairmasters, treadmills and strength equipment. Eastwood Park Leisure in particular has a new and expanded free weights area that now accommodates a squat rack for the first time.
Gyms and fitness team leader Kenny McDonnell from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure said: “The refurbishment at Barrhead Foundry and Eastwood Park Leisure gyms aim to provide our members with the best equipment to support their fitness journeys and ensure they can make the most of their workouts.
“Feedback from customers has been positive and our gym staff have been on hand, as always, to support them using the new equipment.”
The refurbishment is a further enhancement to Barrhead Foundry's fitness offering, following the launch of dedicated functional training space, The Grid, last year. The work-out area was transformed from an underutilised space and now features a 70sqm spacious turf area and new equipment, including fitness rig, half rack and prowler.
Fitness member Moira Clark, who joined in May last year and attends Barrhead Foundry’s gym and swimming pool, said: “The new equipment is really good to work with. I've been focusing on different areas and I feel a better stretch after using the equipment. I come along four times a week, spending time in the main gym and The Grid and I use the swimming pool twice a week, too.
“The staff are fabulous. I have a problem with my hip and the physiotherapist gave me exercises to do. The instructors are really good at showing me exactly what to do and watch to make sure I do it correctly.”
