Explore your superpowers and join forces at Superhero Training Academy, get crafty with cavemen and dinosaurs by taking part in the Time Traveller Camp and fit in some fin-tastic classes and learn to swim like a mermaid!
Plus, there is no shortage of sports clubs, classes and camps, from all-day events and week-long activities to short sessions that can be paid for on the day.
Anthony McReavy from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure said: “We have fun, inclusive and engaging activities on offer across the region for all ages and abilities throughout the summer holidays so kids can keep active, learn new skills and try something new.
“We have lots of sports activities available, from Athletics Camps, where a healthy lunch is included, to football, gymnastics, basketball and tennis clubs and classes.
“As well as keeping fit, it’s important for children to explore their creative side so we have a range of exciting arts and drama activities running throughout the summer too, including our hugely popular Superhero Training Academy and Play in a Week at Eastwood Park Theatre.”
Budding artists can get creative at Mearns Castle High School’s 3D Art School while a Word of Art camp will use art from different countries to inspire, allowing participants to go on a round-the-world journey of art at Woodfarm High School.
Check out the Create and Splash programme, running in July and August, where you take part in a creative activity followed by water fun. You can make your own stop-motion animation on an iPad - creating characters and stories - before jumping into the pool for aqua activities in SwimFilm and take part in Swim Tails where you make your own fin-tastic mini mermaid in a fun craft session before grabbing a tail and learning how to swim like a mermaid.
You don’t have to be an East Renfrewshire pupil to take part in the excellent holiday activities and pre-schoolers are catered for too, with the best summer parties in town as baby discos run on weekends throughout July and mini kickers football sessions running for ages 3-5.
