‘Showhome of Support’ sees the award-winning homebuilder working in partnership with small independent retailers and creators, by giving them a platform to showcase products, produce, and designs.
Cala is set to source ten small businesses from the community in and around the area of Barrhead, and purchase items from them to help finish off the upcoming Cleland show home at its recently launched Aurs Meadows development.
All local businesses who feature within the show home will be signposted throughout the property and support will also be given on the housebuilder’s website with a bespoke landing page as the developer looks to showcase local talent.
Cala is encouraging any independent business owners and retailers, as well as local artisans, in Barrhead, and the wider East Renfrewshire area, to submit their applications via www.cala.co.uk, or by emailing WestPledge@cala.co.uk.
Suzanne McElhiney, Sales and Marketing Director at Cala Homes (West), said: “We are incredibly excited to be rolling out Showhome of Support in the thriving town of Barrhead, with a vibrant neighbourhood home to some fantastic independent retailers.
“Showhome of Support is designed to help give a platform to some of the amazing locally run retailers we have on our doorstep – it is important to us that we support the businesses that neighbour our developments, so if you’re an independent retailer or creator in proximity to Aurs Meadows, we want to hear from you.”
Cala is looking to hear from a whole variety of independent retailers who would like to be considered for a Showhome of Support commission including gift shops, garden centres, fashion boutiques, florists, bookshops, art stores, interiors, framers, food and drink suppliers and furniture makers.
The show home will launch in early autumn and is being designed by interior designer, Alison Harding of AMW Designs.
Alison added: “We designed the Cleland showhome in calming light shades of blue and contrasting natural wood finishes. This pairing has created a picturesque family home that we need the perfect finishing touches for, such as bespoke artwork and accessories.
“We can’t wait to get to know many of these local Barrhead businesses and showcase the amenities and talent on our doorstep.”
