Eaglesham Library has welcomed visitors to enjoy its transformed space, following a refurbishment.

Locals have been impressed by the library's new look and welcoming feel, with the interior refurbishment featuring a new reception desk and furniture, seating area, children's reading space, upcycled shelving and movable units, which offer more flexibility to host events.

The library refurbishment was completed in four weeks and reopened to the public on 5 July 2025.

East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure's Chief Executive Anthony McReavy said: “Eaglesham Library is at the heart of the local community and the refreshed space will benefit individuals, families and groups, enhance their reading experiences and bring people together.

“We look forward to continuing to welcome everyone along to enjoy our wide selection of books, participate in our reading challenges and attend future library events.”

Councillor Andrew Anderson, East Renfrewshire's Convener for Education, Equalities, Culture and Leisure, said: “It is fantastic to see Eaglesham Library's refurbishment and to hear how well it has been received in the local community.

"Visitors have praised its bright, fresh and spacious feel, as well as the flexibility of the space. The library continues to be a highly valued service and space for everyone to enjoy.”
