The charitable Trust will bring family-friendly theatre shows, interactive creative experiences and Christmas carols to be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home this winter, supported by Creative Scotland with funding from Scottish Government.
The festive fun follows the success of the The McDougalls Christmas Party premiere, which was filmed at Eastwood Park Theatre and broadcast to homes, schools and nurseries in the local area.
Anthony McReavy from Eastwood Park Theatre said: "We usually have a packed programme for families running over Christmas and we hope that our online programme of festive fun can keep families entertained at home and continue the festive spirit through Christmas and into the New Year."
UK-based children's theatre company LYNGO has developed a creative play experience for families with children under 10, running from 14 December - 23 January. You can join in with The Gift of Winter show experience with eight workshops at home, featuring fun videos showing how to make props and sets from recycled materials and household objects, invent your own sensory sessions and take a creative play journey together as a family. With music, songs and narration, you can tell the story of how winter got its colours, create your own Christmas tree and discover the true meaning of the festive season.
Two Shaper Caper shows will run right through to January, with the Snow Qween and Moon Capers shows which are suitable for families with 3-9 year olds. Viewers are encouraged to 'pay what you can' to join in the fun.
Families can follow the story of The Snow Qween after her topsy turvy year leaves her unable to find her Christmas Spirit. Find out if Colonel Capers can help her and get to her Snow Palace in time to save Christmas. The Shaper Caper Snow Qween show runs from 14-24 December.
Shaper Caper Moon Capers will be available from 6-13 January 2021, as Captain Caper and pilot Peppy are on a mission to the Moon. You will be requested to attend Space School in preparation for the journey of a lifetime: a trip to the moon and back!
Free, festive fun is also lined up as Christmas singers take to our virtual stage to bring some cheer to your home from 14-18 December.
