The River City actress and singer brings Leah MacRae Live: A Wee Fringe Appetiser to Eastwood Park Theatre in Giffnock on 24 June, ahead of this year's Edinburgh Fringe.
Leah said: “I am delighted to return to Eastwood for my first solo performance in over two years, with a work in progress towards this year's Edinburgh Fringe.
“It’s so important to support all of our live venues after the devastation that covid caused to the industry, but particularly the smaller, local ones. Eastwood Theatre is my local venue and is actually the first stage I ever performed on when I was a teenager.
“Last time I performed there professionally, I snapped my Achilles’ tendon on stage in front of an audience...so hopefully I can stick to comedy this time and no drama!”
Leah's brought sell-out Scottish tour: ‘My Big, Fat, Fabulous Diary’ in 2019 and hugely successful one-woman debut at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
The Eastwood Park Theatre show promises “big, chubby belly laughs galore as she makes light work of weighty issues in this evening of brand-new comedy, a work in progress towards her new one-woman show and... She might even treat you to a belting ballad or two.”
Eastwood Park Theatre will also welcome veteran Scottish stand-up comedian Fred MacAuley with his show Fred Macaulay: What(ever) Next on Sunday 12 June ahead of his run at the Edinburgh Fringe. Comedian Alun Cochrane, known from TV comedy shows including Mock the Week, Have I Got News For You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and 8 out of 10 Cats, will also perform at the venue on Saturday 15 October.
