The conservation charity and Immersion Theatre will be thinking happy thoughts as they welcome visitors to the fun and exciting production of Peter Pan, taking place in the lush garden at Greenbank, that is sure to delight all members of the family during the school summer holidays.
The 18th century house and garden in the southside of the city, which is cared for, protected and shared by the National Trust for Scotland for the access and enjoyment of everyone, will host the outdoor musical 17 July, starting at 4pm, with visitors welcome from 3pm.
Julie Gilliland, National Trust for Scotland Visitor Services Manager at Greenbank House and Garden, said: “We’re super excited to have Immersion Theatre bring their funny and enchanting tale of Peter Pan to Greenbank House and Garden here in Glasgow in July. The much-loved children’s story will be brought to life with a hilarious script, catchy music and loads of audience interaction to keep young ones and big kids at heart entertained during the school holidays.
“It’s thanks to the continued generosity of our members and supporters that we’re able to continue to care for this special place and protect Scotland’s rich cultural and natural heritage now and for the benefit of future generations. Events like the production of Peter Pan contribute to our engagement objectives outlined in our strategy, launched in 2022, to provide access to nature, beauty and heritage for everyone to enjoy.”
Tickets are available to book online and at Greenbank House and Garden on the day, with adult tickets £14, child tickets £12 and family tickets available at £48. Tickets are available on the property’s Eventbrite page, here: shorturl.at/vxUaC
Greenbank House and Garden is an oasis of tranquillity and beauty set less than a mile from Glasgow’s bustling Southside suburbs. It’s also an impressive celebration of west coast domestic gardening, featuring more than 3,600 named species of plants. Built for Robert Allason in the 1760s – he made his money as a tobacco merchant and slave trader in the days when Glasgow was the second city of the British Empire. The walled garden was built at the same time as the house, and both are surrounded by tall swaying beeches.
