The employability service, based in Barrhead’s Lowndes Street Employability Hub, can help find training or employment and provide 1-to-1 support. The friendly and approachable team will help to ensure anyone they support is job ready, confident and prepared for the world of work.
There is a wide variety of support programmes available, which aim to help different groups of people including long-term unemployed, parents, young and care-experienced people, those with a health conditions or disabilities and anyone resettled within East Renfrewshire.
The team offers vocational training programmes aimed at improving applicant’s job chances. These range from one-off workshops to longer, more intensive accredited courses. All clients are assigned an adviser who can help with CVs, interview skills and training.
A dedicated Business Liaison Officer also provides a wide range of support and services to local employers, including a free vacancy and recruitment service and access to Employment Recruitment Incentives.
