Music In The Mearns returns on Sunday 8th December with their Christmas Concert featuring world renowned flute player Silvija Sčerbavičiute and acclaimed concert pianist Karolína Kubálkova!
About Music In The Mearns Christmas Concert
After last week’s hugely successful performance by Gordon and Cheryl, we are keeping our excitement high by welcoming world renowned flute player Silvija Sčerbavičiute, the principal flautist of Dublin’s RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
Silvija has played with the UK’s best, from venues like The Wigmore Hall and Southbank Centre, and performances with the BBC Symphony, London’s West End and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra - she’s now joining us all the way from Dublin to perform for Music in the Mearns!
Alongside our own Artistic Director and Internationally acclaimed concert pianist Karolína Kubálkova, they will perform a beautiful mix of classics including selections from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, works by J.S Bach and Rimsky Korsakov’s ‘Flight of the Bumblebee’ to Czech and Lithuanian works by composers Bohuslav Martinů and Juozas Pakalnis.
Plus, we will be spotlighting two fantastic young musicians to support the next generation of Scottish Artistry.
