About Climate Adaptation: What Communities Can Do

Please RSVP (few clicks) using the link to help us plan for catering. Thank you!

Every community is unique, and so are the impacts of climate change on each place. Addressing climate change can feel overwhelming—it’s complex, interconnected, and it’s not always clear where to start.

Join us for a relaxed community learning session to explore the actions we can take to protect people and places we care about against the effects of our changing climate.

We’re delighted to have Alex Cameron-Smith from Verture who will guide us through the Community Climate Adaptation Routemap, a simple guide for communities across Scotland to building resilience, preparing for climate change, and making our areas healthier and safer for people and wildlife.

We’ll also explore the Climate Hazards and Resilience in the Workplace resource, which helps identify what climate change might mean for workplaces and how to develop solutions that centre workers.

This is going to be a relaxed and interactive session open to anyone looking to learn more about climate adaptation. We’ll provide teas, coffees, and treats + soup and a roll for lunch.

Programme:
10-10:15 Welcome
10:15-12:30 Event starts
12:30-1 Lunch

Verture is a Scottish charity that helps everyone, in every place, thrive as our climate changes. The Adaptation Scotland programme is funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by Verture.
East Renfrewshire Climate Action Hub (ERCAH) works to bring together people, community groups, and organisations across East Renfrewshire to support joined up, community-led climate action.
