Lindores Abbey in Fife is the officially recognised site of the first recorded distillation of Scotch Whisky in 1494, when Brother John Cor, one of the monks, was commissioned by King James IV to turn 8 bolls of malt into Aqua Vitae. Over 550 years later, the Abbey Distillery is still producing exquisite single malts.
Their latest limited edition expression is the Friar John Cor Chapter III Cask Strength 60.2% Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The Friar John Cor ‘The Cask Strength Congregation Batch’ – Chapter 3, was matured in a selection of ex-Bourbon barrels, Amontillado and PX Sherry Butt casks. These whiskies were vatted and then allowed to marry in refill Sherry butts, enhancing their depth, complexity, and allowing flavours complement each other. This "symphony of casks" creates a whisky that is elegant, complex and deeply satisfying - the perfect balance between tradition and innovation.
Join John in-store this Saturday to sample their core expression and a few limited edition drams!
