Eastwood House is a beautiful C-listed mansion house in Eastwood Park. With its grand sweeping staircase and beautifully appointed rooms, it offers visitors a window to its past life as a private estate while functioning today as a much loved community hub.
While hosting wedding ceremonies and receptions, social events, meetings and conferences, it also provides beautiful surroundings for a growing programme of arts and heritage events and activities.
To celebrate Doors Open Day 2025 and its theme of Architectural Heritage: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future, we are offering a truly unique opportunity to learn about this magnificent mansion house.
Built in the 1830s as the mansion house for a private estate, Eastwood House has been a home and a place of work to many people. Some have played an important role in the history of the local area and impacted the social, economic and cultural life of those living nearby. Join us for a guided tour of the house and hear some of their stories, while enjoying the beauty of its architecture and celebrating its current and future role as a busy community resource.
The house is also open to visitors who prefer to look around on their own rather than as part of a tour.
Please note the following information:
Free tickets are available for booking with a maximum booking of 2 tickets per transaction. As spaces are limited please let us know if you can no longer make it so that the tickets can be made available to others.
The tours will focus on accessible areas, although there may be a couple of areas at the end of the tour which can only be accessed by stairs and will be optional.
Tea, coffee, water and biscuits will be available at Eastwood House and there is a café nearby in Eastwood Park Theatre.
All welcome, although the content may be more enjoyable for older children and adults.
Tours will run for approximately 30 – 45 minutes.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
